INTRODUCTION

This 2-day course is developed to give introductory facets and elements of recognising and embracing “Familiness” in creating competitive advantage for the family business.

To develop next generation as effective managers, shareholders, and family members; To manage ownership and leadership transitions; To prepare the organization for future changes in management and ownership; To take charge and letting go of leadership responsibilities.

INTRODUCTION

This 2-day course is developed to understand the dynamics of family business system. Family businesses will know how to balance the business perspective and the family perspective and adapting the practices of successful family companies and business families.

OBJECTIVE

To formulate effective strategies to reach common goals, address conflicts, and plan for a family’s
future, To develop practices that lead to high-performance companies, loyal shareholders, and
healthy families.

Organisational design issues: Formality, Authority, Autonomy.
Professionalization of the business: Optimising performance, Human capital and transgenerational
potential, Passing the baton to the next generation vs. professional managers.

To recognize the differences between and the reasons for preserving and distributing wealth in
the family business.
